Where the doctor considers a certificate clinically appropriate, it is emailed to you as a PDF. A certificate is only issued after a genuine consultation — never automatically on request.

What is a medical certificate in Pakistan?
A medical certificate (also called a sick leave certificate or fitness certificate, depending on context) is a document from a registered doctor stating that you are unfit to attend work or studies for a stated period.
Many Pakistani employers and colleges ask for a certificate to authorise certified sick leave. The certificate typically confirms that you are unfit for work and gives the dates. It does not need to disclose your full diagnosis to your employer.
A valid certificate should show your name, the dates you are certified unfit, the date of issue, and the name and PMDC registration number of the doctor who issued it.
Employer and college sick leave
Sick leave rules vary by employer contract, provincial labour practice and institutional policy. Always check your staff handbook, HR policy or college rules for when a certificate is required.

How to get a medical certificate online with DrPak

Can a doctor refuse to issue a medical certificate?
Yes. A certificate is a clinical judgement, not a product. The doctor can only certify unfitness for work if the consultation supports it. Booking pays for assessment — it does not purchase a certificate.
Mental health and medical certificates
A certificate for a mental health difficulty can carry the same weight as one for a physical illness. Your employer’s certificate usually states only that you are unfit for work and gives the dates — it does not have to name a condition.
