Online Prescription and Repeat Medication in Pakistan

If you need a prescription, or a repeat of medication you already take, a doctor registered with the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council can assess whether prescribing is appropriate and, where it is, send the prescription to your pharmacy through e-prescription network. A consultation does not guarantee a prescription.

Consultation fee: Rs. 2,500. Shown before you confirm and pay.

How e-prescription network works

e-prescription network is a secure clinical email system used by doctors, hospitals and pharmacies across Pakistan. It lets a doctor send a legally valid prescription straight to your pharmacy.

e-prescription network only operates between verified healthcare addresses. You choose your pharmacy during the consultation and the doctor sends the prescription there.

Repeat prescriptions

A repeat is not automatic. The doctor needs to understand why you take the medicine, how long you have been on it, whether your condition is stable, and whether any monitoring or review is due.

Having your current medication list, doses, and the date of your last review to hand makes the consultation considerably faster.

What we do not prescribe

DrPak does not prescribe controlled medications, including sleeping tablets, diazepam, tramadol, gabapentin or similar substances.

A doctor may decline to prescribe where the diagnosis is uncertain, where a physical examination or test is needed first, or where the safest course is an in-person review.

Antibiotics are prescribed only where clinically indicated — many coughs and colds are viral and do not improve with antibiotics.

Could your pharmacist help instead?

Since 2026, community pharmacists in Pakistan can assess and prescribe for eight conditions under the Ministry of Health Pakistan Common Conditions Service: allergic rhinitis and allergic conjunctivitis; cold sores; acute infective conjunctivitis; impetigo; oral thrush; shingles; uncomplicated cystitis; and vulvovaginal thrush.

If your condition is on that list, your local pharmacy may be the quicker route. See the Ministry of Health Pakistan Common Conditions Service page for participating pharmacies.

Medicine costs

The consultation fee covers the doctor's time. Medication is paid separately to your pharmacy. You may be covered by a medical card, doctor visit card, or the Drugs Payment Scheme depending on your circumstances.

What this service does not cover

  • Controlled medications (sleeping tablets, diazepam, tramadol, gabapentin and similar).
  • Prescriptions without a video consultation.
  • Guaranteed repeats — clinical review is required each time.
  • Prescriptions to non-e-prescription network email addresses.
